Check out the new Ellis Paul. I've been underwhelmed so far this year but that might be because I have put my eMusic on hiatus while I build up some fundage.

yeah, matt, I actually had it at #2 until late in the game. I really like the Brand New album, too, but in reality, the top 3 for me are all very close together.

Thanks for the mention. Great list, Greg, and I stand firm in my belief that Backspacer is not only the best album of the year but one of the best in the decade.

yeah, Backspacer is very good. Like I said, I was never a PJ fan really, but I love it.

All three of those are worth getting. Great stuff.

Good list. I agree that this has been a great year for music releases. I never picked up Pearl Jam, Dylan, or DMB, and I still had a hard time limiting myself to 20 albums. I hear GREAT things about Backspacer, so I'll add that to my list.

I liked Monsters of Folk more than you did. But I agree that there were plenty of albums in my #11-20 that in any other year would've been Top 10 material.

"Hold Time" is actually one of my favorite albums of the year. I just can't stop listening to it. Thanks to eMusic, I have his entire catalog now.

I've yet to get Webb and Crowder. They're next on the list.

I love the Steve Earle disc. It narrowly missed my top 20. But his son's album cracked the top 10 for me.
