Wednesday during lunch I was eating at a local Chili’s and from where I was sitting, I could see a television over in the bar area. I couldn’t hear it, but this is what I saw:
I did a lot of work around the house the past two days, so I was able to keep my eye close on the sports world (well, at least, the NFL, tennis and college basketball.) It was a great weekend in my opinion.
NFL
The Super Bowl is now set.
A year after Peyton reached his first [...]
A few random things . . .
Barack Obama: closet Muslim or racist Christian?
It’s no secret that those on the right seem intent on demonizing Barack Obama. I was only slightly surprised at what appeared in my inbox this past week. It seems that the “racist Christian” angle on Obama has more traction [...]
College football season ended a few days ago when college basketball season began, but here’s a few things I didn’t get to mention earlier this week from the world of college football, the NFL, and the NBA.
Darren McFadden = the man. Very impressive 300+ yards put him back in the Heisman race. It [...]
I’ve yet to write a post-Super Bowl piece yet. I was going to say a few things last week, but never got around to it. Here’s a few things.
The game itself was not terribly exciting. It started off with a bang - just like the BCS title game - with an opening [...]
I was prepared to post this picture today, assuming that Peyton Manning would “lose the big one” again. I really hate to waste that picture. However, THE big one is in two weeks, so maybe I can still use it then (although I’m not holding my breath.)
Nevertheless, it will be a [...]
I’ve said enough about Duke and opening ACC play today already, but it would be nice to get off to a good start. They are no doubt better than Virginia Tech, but as I’ve said, Tech has played them tough all but once thus far in ACC play. They need to play a solid [...]
Just a few things I’ve seen in the last couple of days but haven’t gotten around to posting yet:
Chris Gonzalez is reading through the Koran and recording his thoughts on a new blog, Blogging The Koran. As one who has never read the Koran (and probably never will), I’ll be interested to see his [...]
Well, I watched the Super Bowl last night. For some reason, I was wanting the Steelers to win. Probably because of Jerome Bettis. I just wanted him to win one. And I like Cowher, too. So, I was happy about the outcome. As for the game, it wasn’t one of the better ones in recent years, [...]
