So, maybe Florida’s decision on who will replace Billy Donovan will be easier than they thought. Perhaps they’ll be able to replace him with.. himself!

I guess Donovan has disappointed Kentucky fans twice in two months now.

My personal thought is that, while this whole thing is embarrassing to all parties involved and Donovan in particular, I think it’s best for him and college basketball that he remain at Florida. I think he had a chance to succeed with Orlando, who is not the cellar team that most college coaches end up walking into when making the jump. However, I think eventually he would end up back in college basketball anyway. As a college basketball fan (and not much of an NBA fan), I like to see the best stay as long as possible when it comes to players, and the same goes for coaches. Donovan has been good for college basketball and Florida’s success has been good for the SEC, so I’ll be glad to see him stay in Gainesville (which appears to be the case at the moment.)

I think I speak for most of America when I say that I’m much happier to see this guy leave.

Glad for Florida, Orland looks bad now, but may be better in the long run with Van Gundy.
