I suppose it wasn’t enough to publish a seemingly never-ending collection of Left Behind novels (and now, apparently, some prequels to those novels.) Now, according to this article, the Left Behind crew is coming out with video games. From the article:

In a post-apocalyptic New York, two sides wage battles for dominance throughout the city as they try to learn why a large portion of the population suddenly disappeared. The latest “Command and Conquer” game? No, this is “Left Behind: Eternal Forces.”

Based on the best-selling series of novels about a Christian “Last Days” scenario, the upcoming real-time strategy game includes military battles between the Tribulation Forces and the Global Community Peacekeepers as well as uncovering the meaning behind the mysterious disappearances worldwide of the faithful during the Rapture.

Attention all unbelievers and lukewarm Christians - now you don’t have to wait for the Rapture to occur so that you can experience the Tribulation. You can bring the Tribulation home today! Amazing.

By the way, who is this game for, anyway? Is it for Christians who just want to see what it’s going to be like without having to actually be there? Or perhaps it really is for unbelievers and Christians who aren’t really committed - you know, sort of a “Tribulation practice run.” I don’t mean to make light of the end of the world, but this idea seems worse than the books. And they were pretty bad.
